What is the Greater Governor Mifflin League?
The Greater Governor Mifflin League (GGML) is a community organization which consists of members (volunteer residents) from the Governor Mifflin School District areas of Shillington, Mohnton, Kenhorst, Brecknock, Gouglersville, and Cumru Township.

When was the GGML formed?
The GGML was formed in 1976 as a Bicentennial Committee and is now in its 36th year.

What is “Community Days?”
Each year the GGML organizes a week-long community fair known as “Greater Mifflin Community Days” which enables local organizations to raise funds and also bring the community closer together. The fair is held on the campus of the Governor Mifflin Middle and Senior High Schools. There are generally more than 45 food and game stands as well as amusement rides. Nightly entertainment is provided free of charge. The week-long event is climaxed on the Saturday following the 4th of July with a fabulous fireworks display.

Where do the proceeds go?
The food and game stands are sponsored by or run solely by Governor Mifflin-based organizations. The proceeds from the stands are divided between the sponsoring organizations and the GGML. The GGML proceeds from the fair are returned to the community in the form of contributions to local fire companies, ambulance associations, scout troops, school projects, community projects, scholarships, etc. as determined by the GGML.

In the past 35 years, the GGML has returned over $400,000 back into the community which included substantial contributions to the above mentioned groups. Also, the GGML sponsors the “free” nightly entertainment and fireworks display which is an admirable return to the community.

How can I help out with Community Days?
The GGML always appreciates volunteers who are willing to help with the set-up and tear-down of the fair. The GGML is also looking for “full-time” volunteers to serve on its committee. If interested in helping out with the fair, please fill out this form.

If your organization is local (in the Governor Mifflin area) and non-profit, you can qualify for a stand. Please fill out this form if interested.
